A MINUTE TO LEARN

Keep the centre open.

  1. Slide one stone. Move horizontally or vertically, any distance along a clear line. No jumping or landing on your own stone. You can pass through the marked centre, but never stop on it.
  2. Take, then return. Land on an opposing stone to capture it. Turn the captured stone to your colour and keep it in your reserve. On a later turn, you may place one reserve stone on any empty outside-edge square instead of sliding.
  3. Claim three directions. From the centre, look north, east, south and west. The first stone on each line claims it; stones behind it are screened. Control three directions at the end of your turn to win.

The colour choice. White opens. The second player then keeps Black or takes White. Black moves next. In computer play, “you open” means you make the first move; your colour may change after the choice.

Losing all your stones, including reserves, is a loss. Three occurrences of the same complete position, reserves and player to move make a draw.

Tap a stone or reserve to see legal destinations. Use arrow keys and Enter on a keyboard; Escape clears your selection. Games save on this device. This is an experimental game; fairness and depth are not yet established.

ONE MOVE, THREE DIRECTIONS
